Canterbury District Dodgeball Champions 2026

On Tuesday 13th January 2026, all 16 Year 6 children attended a dodgeball tournament at Canterbury Academy. The children were split into two teams of eight for the first group stage of the competition.

Team 1 made an excellent start, winning all of their group games and earning a place in Group 1 for the second half of the tournament, giving them a chance to compete for the overall title. Team 2 also performed well in a competitive group, securing a couple of wins and some hard-earned draws, which placed them into Group 3 for the second session.

Team 1’s outstanding form continued into the second stage of the tournament. Despite facing several very tough opponents, they went on to win all six of their matches to be crowned overall champions.

Although the children competed in two teams, the championship success was down to the magnificent teamwork and camaraderie shown by all 16 pupils throughout the day. As always, their sportsmanship, team ethic and commitment were outstanding, and I could not have been prouder of every child who took part.
