Year 5&6 WW2 Theme Day
WW2 Day, Kent Life
Oak Class had an engaging World War II theme day at Kent Life, immersing themselves in the sights and sounds of the era through a variety of engaging workshops. They explored a house authentically decorated in 1940s style, complete with an Anderson shelter, where they learned how families prepared for air raids. The children discovered the importance of Blitz precautions and got hands-on with history by making traditional rag rugs. They even stepped into the shoes of wartime strategists, using protractors to give precise commands to airmen. The day brought history to life, leaving everyone with a deeper understanding of life during the Second World War.
