School Meals

At Wickhambreaux CEP School, parents have the option of providing a packed lunch for their child or purchasing a hot cooked meal.

Our School Meals are provided by Caterlink - a specialist school caterer.

Children in Year R, 1 & 2 are entitled to a free school meal in line with the Government initiative for Universal Free School Meals.

Children in Years 3,4,5 & 6 will be charged £3.15 for each meal provided.

You are able to order, pay and choose your child’s meal on the Caterlink website:

https://meals.caterlinkltd.co.uk/meals/sign_in

To register for the first time, you will need to obtain your child’s Unique Number from the school office. Contact Mrs Stephenson and she will email it to you.

Once the account is created you can log in and top up your child’s account at any time. Please note you will need to create a separate account for each child.

Packed Lunches

We strongly encourage parents to ensure packed lunches are healthy and wholesome, providing children with a balanced diet. Sweets and fizzy drinks are not allowed in lunch boxes.

Snacks

Children may bring fruit and cheese snacks for break time. Crisps are allowed in packed lunches.

Allergy Aware School

We have a number of children in school with allergies. Please do not send any food into school containing nuts.  This will include sandwich fillings such as peanut butter or Nutella, cereal bars with nuts and open packets of nuts as a snack. Children are not allowed to share food.

Free School Meal- are you entitled to this?

Some children are entitled to free school meals if parents are in receipt of certain benefits.

You do not need to take up the entitlement if you or your son or daughter would prefer not to have school meals, but having registered means that we will have additional money, per registered pupil, in the school’s budget which is used to support their learning and educational experiences.

To be eligible for free school meals the child’s family must be in receipt of one of the following benefits.

Income Support

Income Based Jobseekers Allowance

Child Tax Credit (not including Working Tax Credit) if the household income is below £16,190

Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit

An Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

Kent County Council have launched an online Free School Meals application service including an eligibility assessment to establish whether you have an entitlement to Free School Meals. This can be accessed at http://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/free-school-meals

The school will be notified automatically of any successful applications.
