Welcome to Willow Class which is home to the Year 1 children. The transition from EYFS to Year 1 is considerable but please be assured that we continue to learn through in a range of fun and exciting ways including, song, dance, drama, play and exploration; however, they are now introduced to some more academic learning and have weekly spellings and Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFS) to learn which support them with their learning, a copy of which can be found on our Class page.

The themes that the children will learn about throughout the year are taught on a two-year cycle. Each theme is incorporated into our English, Art, Music, History, Geography, Dance and DT work. Willow will continue to learn French and music with specialist teachers.

Willow continue their learning adventure through Forest School which is a truly amazing experience for the children. This takes place on Fridays during Term 1.
