Kick Back And Read 2026

One of our favourite Wickhambreaux traditions returned this week as the whole school came together for our annual Kick Back and Read.

Dressed in their summer clothes, the children found a comfortable spot outdoors to relax with a good book, enjoying the sunshine and some refreshing treats while taking time to get lost in a story. It was wonderful to see pupils of all ages reading alongside one another, sharing recommendations and celebrating a love of books together.

Adding to the special atmosphere, Mrs Maisey treated everyone to beautiful live violin music as the children read, creating a calm and memorable experience for all.

At Wickhambreaux CEP School, we believe that reading should be a pleasure, and events like Kick Back and Read help to inspire a lifelong love of books while bringing our whole school community together.
